Budgets and stuff

I find it interesting how it seems no one has any money.
People everywhere say they aren't getting raises if they even have a job, because the employers are making no money.
The Fed government is apparently broke, and state governments all over are slashing budgets making things worse as a snowball effect happens. They slash, the programs they slash have to layoff to meet the budget, etc...
Makes you kind of wonder where all the money has gone. Is the loan and mortgage crisis finally catching up to America? In other words have we really been living off of too much credit all this time? Or is the Federal reserve bank not keeping up with the growth rate? Is it a combination? And is there a fix?
I don't know. But I do seem to find it amusing that the people of Texas haven't been hit as hard as the rest of the states, but of government has, which means our people are about to feel it too. Even before our state approves a final budget education sectors everywhere are making preliminary cuts, laying off teachers and non-essential employees.
I also find it amusing that the one industry that seems to thrive a lot in tough times is gambling. I guess a lot of people wish to make a quick buck.
funny thing is as an Oklahoma casino has now become the third largest in the nation, based almost exclusively on Texas revenue, and of course our lawmakers refuse to budge.
Ah well.
