Keep on truckin

March 13th 2009 06:12
I wanted to update the earlier story I posted as the Temple Daily Telegram now has a full report.
In summary, an 18-wheeler was driven on Interstate-35 (a very busy route in Texas and beyond) and in Temple, Tx police think the driver may have fallen asleep. The truck went off the interstate, across a frontage road, through a parking lot up an incline which sent it flying and it landed in the back of a hotel room.

Truck rams into hotel

In all this, no one was hurt and only one person injured. But the timing was just perfect for that to happen. A few minutes earlier or later and people would have been in that room, maids may have been in the hall way, cars could have been in the truckers way, or it could have happened in an even more populated spot. Still, this is simply amazing.

Going that far off the road I think maybe he crawled up into the sleeper compartment of the truck. I mean how would that not wake you before getting as far as he did. Well unless it was like a stroke, seizure r heart attack or something.
